Why can't I buy Braille (the brown lab guide dog)?Updated 8 months ago
Chocolate labs have recessive genes, so there are simply fewer chocolate labs in the world. Additionally, some trainers find that chocolate labs have more energy than black and yellow labs, so it is rarer to find a chocolate lab guide dog than it is to find a black or yellow lab guide dog. We wanted to be as accurate as possible, so we created fewer chocolate labs, making Braille an ultra-rare item! The only way to get Braille is through the Shop Blind Experience. Just like it's a delightful surprise to have a chocolate lab born, it will be the same delightful surprise if you receive Braille in your Shop Blind package.
Keep in mind, nearly a quarter of guide dogs in training will not graduate, meaning that Guider and Beacon (our yellow and black puppies) are special in their own right, and we hope that you love them as much as we do!
